Google appears to be reworking Fitbit into a new screenless "Fitbit Air" device alongside a renamed Google Health app and Premium plan. The launch is drawing mixed reactions because of missing legacy Fitbit features, AI coach issues, and continued sales of older trackers like the Sense 2 and Versa 4.

When will the Fitbit Air be released?

The Fitbit Air launched Thursday for $100 at Google.com and in the Google Store app, hitting brick-and-mortar stores on May 26. Accessory bands start at $35.

How much is the Fitbit Air?

At $99, the band is just the ticket to get you in the door. Accessory bands start at $35. Google Health Premium will run you $10 a month or $100 a year when you purchase an annual subscription. Three months of Google Health Premium are included with purchase, after which the subscription automatically renews at $10 a month.

What’s all this Premium fitness going to cost you?

As you’d expect, Premium means “paid,” and just like Fitbit Premium before it, Google Health Premium requires an ongoing subscription. In order to access the personalized training and extended feature set, users will have to pay $9.99 a month, or $99 annually. That’s up from the $79.99 Fitbit Premium has been charging, so a lot of eyes will be on Google to see whether or not all this new functionality is worth the value. On the plus side, Google Health Premium will be a free perk to users on Google AI Pro and Ultra plans.
