Our view is more nuanced than simply calling this price gouging. Buyers are right to dislike paying more, especially if they first budgeted for a product before the surcharge appeared. However, UniFi products have often been competitively priced against rivals, and the surcharge approach at least separates the increase from the baseline price rather than hiding it entirely. The main criticism is communication. UniFi could have made the change more visible earlier. If a buyer is not actively looking for the surcharge line, it is easy to miss. If the product still fits your requirements and the final basket price is competitive, the surcharge alone should not necessarily be a deal-breaker.
