Is Ubiquiti gear worth it?

For the money, in our testing, generally yes, with a caveat. The value is in the ecosystem: one controller for network, cameras, storage, and power, with no per-camera or per-site licensing, which is where competing surveillance and networking stacks quietly get expensive. The caveat is that the value depends on staying inside the ecosystem, so mixing in third-party gear erases much of the advantage.

What Is the UniFi Memory Surcharge?

The UniFi memory surcharge is an additional fee shown separately on affected Ubiquiti / UniFi product pages or during checkout. Rather than changing the headline MSRP alone, Ubiquiti has itemised an additional surcharge against selected products. According to the surcharge schedule reproduced by NASCompares, the adjustment is tied to volatility in memory and storage markets, with part of the additional cost absorbed by Ubiquiti and part passed through as a separate line item. This matters because UniFi hardware is used across gateways, WiFi access points, switches, Protect cameras/NVRs, Talk h

How often is this page updated?

Every few weeks. Ubiquiti releases frequently and we test most of what ships, so new entries are added as reviews publish and the dated note at the top records what changed. If a product is not on this page, we have not tested it, and we do not list hardware we have not put through the lab.

What Is the UniFi ENAS?

The ENAS is the enterprise step in the UniFi NAS range. Earlier UNAS devices made sense for straightforward storage, easy deployment and UniFi-integrated file services, but they did not fully compete with business NAS platforms from QNAP, Synology, TrueNAS-style servers or other ZFS-capable rackmount systems. ENAS changes that conversation by adding the hardware and software features business buyers were waiting for: more bays, ZFS, 25GbE, ECC memory, iSCSI and redundant power. It also feels very clearly derived from Ubiquiti’s enterprise rack hardware design language. The 3U chassis, front di
