Xbox layoffs have forced The Elder Scrolls Online to rebuild its release roadmap just two days before Season One is due to launch. Jessica Folsom said the season will still go ahead, but “the roadmaps we previously shared will be shifting,” and the team will take time to evaluate the work ahead before locking in an updated schedule.

The change comes after Zenimax Online Studios had already moved ESO away from yearly expansions and to a seasonal model in January. At the time, executive producer Susan Kath said that shift was not a response to the 2025 layoffs, noting the season work had begun 12 to 14 months earlier.
