Should you buy the HP Omnibook X?

Devindra Hardawar for Engadget While it doesn't really stand out in the crowded field of ultraportables design-wise, the Omnibook X does so many things well its simplified looks don't matter much. It's a sturdy and powerful machine that can be specced way up, depending on your needs. Its $900 sale price (at the time of this review) is an excellent deal, even if it comes with a slower Intel Core Ultra 5 chip and 16GB of RAM. You'd have to upgrade the new XPS 13 to a similar price to get the same amount of memory, and it doesn't feel nearly as well-built. If you need a bit more power, you can bu

How much does the HP OmniBook 3 cost?

HP's OmniBook 3 16" starts as low as $699.99 without any discounts; however, HP basically designed this PC to be on sale almost all the time, and you can usually get this baseline model for a lot less. At the time of writing this review, a model with Snapdragon X (X1-26) System-on-Chip (SoC), 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 512GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and 2K IPS display costs $399 at Walmart. The model I'm reviewing represents a significant upgrade in a couple of key areas. It has a 2K OLED display, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a 1TB SSD. For some reason, HP omits the OLED display as an option in its config
