As the first project from the newly branded Halo Studios, Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of the shooter masterpiece using Unreal Engine 5. The main reason this mode exists is… because it’s fun? I don’t really know what else to say when the third-person camera is just an unlockable likely added to encourage replay value amongst casual and hardcore players alike, not anything foundation shifting. With Campaign Evolved marking the first time a Halo game comes to PlayStation, jokes are being made that this camera system makes it feel like every other first-party exclusive available on the console. Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It’s being developed by Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries. This is the same team that created Halo 4, Halo 5, and Halo: Infinite. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and modernizes some parts of the classic shooter while also adding some new content, including a few missions set before the events of the original Halo.
