For most players, completing the main story of Big Walk should take somewhere between 9 to 12 hours. For a completionist run, this can easily extend to 20 hours. This assumes a reasonably capable group that is making steady progress through the island’s puzzles without spending too much time stuck on individual challenges. The biggest factor is how quickly the group solves puzzles. Getting stuck on one challenge for 30 minutes can have a much bigger effect on the final playtime than simply walking across the map. The number of players can also affect the pace. Big Walk supports large groups, and having more people can sometimes make puzzles easier because players can split up and investigate different areas. Once you get into the waiting room, the switches on the wall will need to be turned on at the same time. This will lock the room, and the countdown timer will start. The solution to this puzzle is... just to wait! It's a moment in Big Walk that encourages you to relax for a few minutes, maybe have a seat, and discuss how the journey has been so far with your walking buddies. Though a solo player in Big Walk can host a game for their friends to join, there's no single-player mode at the time of publishing this guide. The only real way to play Big Walk by yourself is to have multiple copies of the game on different households and be willing to do each part of each puzzle as two players instead of one.
