I’m choosing Animal Crossing here because it’s probably the closest analogue to Tomodachi Life. Well, at least they look somewhat vaguely similar if you’ve never seen the genre before and your glasses got smashed by some guy at the mall who you didn’t even mean to bump into. Both games involve characters living on an island, both games feature giving and receiving gifts, and, because having a list of three is pleasing to the brain, both games are the most fun when something unexpected happens.
