While it’s a relief that Blade Runner 2099 will get a proper ending, no matter how it does in the ratings, it is a bit disappointing that we probably won’t get a season 2. But that doesn’t mean a second season of Blade Runner 2099 is impossible; in Hollywood, anything is possible if a marketing department deems it potentially profitable. Amazon’s Blade Runner series is being designed as a one-and-done thing, but if it’s a big hit, Amazon could surely make another season, even if it’s another standalone story set in the Blade Runner universe and not a direct continuation of this series.
