It was confirmed to us during a MagicCon pre-briefing that there would be no Commander precon decks for The Hobbit. This is a very intentional decision, and while there will still be Commander-focused cards in the set, there's no dedicated precons being released. Instead, a new co-op experience is coming in 2027 and is being viewed as filling the gap left by the missing deck. Little is known about this co-op product and whether it's similar to the Turtle Team-Up release or whether it's something completely different or larger in scale. It's hard to justify the cost of the Marvel Super Heroes Collector's Edition Commander decks for a few reasons. First, we don't yet know the cards' values in the deck, and if the reprint value is low, it could mean the deck's overall value is low, even when printed in surge foil. Secondly, until we get into preview season, it's impossible to gauge how the set will be perceived overall. It is extremely unlikely that these prices will drop before the set launches, as these decks are printed as a limited run.
