By comparison, Switch 1 was not well supplied at launch. Nintendo has some real challenges, certainly in the short-term and particularly in the West. The macro-economic conditions are extremely tough and its release slate is currently lacking. Nintendo has only announced a selection of titles for 2026, and the biggest Switch 2 games on its calendar – Pokémon Winds and Waves – aren’t due until 2027.
