How can I find the performance difference between single producer/single consumer (sp/sc) and multi-producer/multi-consumer (mp/mc)?
Running ring_perf_auto_test in /app/test gives the number of CPU cycles, in the following screenshot output, to study the performance difference between single producer/single consumer and multi-producer/multi-consumer. It also shows the differences for different bulk sizes. The key takeaway: Using sp/sc with higher bulk sizes gives higher performance. Please note that even though the default ring_perf_autotest runs through the performance test with block sizes of 8 and 32, one can update the source code to include other desired sizes (modify the array bulk_sizes[] to include bulk sizes of int
